Company History
Three Strands Media has been operating since 2016 and was formally incorporated as an LLC in 2022. Matt and Melissa Mayer had been working freelance projects since 2006 and took the leap into entrepreneurial business full-time in 2020 (yes, in the height of the pandemic!).

Matt is the video guy and tech brain behind Three Strands Media. Gifted with a natural artistic eye, he knew early on that he wanted to work in a creative field. Matt has spent the first 20 years of his career building his knowledge base and honing his craft and now serves as the director of all our video shoots. In business, he guides our vision to work humbly and with integrity.
Melissa Mayer
COO | Co-Founder
Melissa is the graphic designer and list keeper behind Three Strands Media. Finding her passion for design in high school, Melissa went on to attend Indiana Wesleyan University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design. She now leads all design projects and guides creative direction for video shoots. In business, she works in the details to support our vision.
Our Covenant
Three Strands Media is a dream of two young kids who fell in love working together at a video rental store in the early 2000’s. For four years Matt and Melissa worked side by side renting videos, connecting with customers, collecting late fees, and laughing our way through the start of our careers. After two years we agreed that working together was the best part of our days and so we made the decision to spend all our days together at our wedding in May of 2006. But, as big as it is, marriage was not enough – we knew that God was writing a story for us that included being business partners. Spouses working together isn’t for everyone, but we genuinely believe that this is what God had planned for us since day one.
Fast forward to 2024 – through a handful of careers, homes, cars, and one incredible kid – we still love working together. Three Strands Media is built on the idea that three are better than one. At the top of this list is the Father-Son-Holy Spirit trio, without which we wouldn’t have the grace to make it through the ups and down of life. God-Husband-Wife trio is how we live our days, in that order, with that authority – we whole-heartedly believe this is how God wants us to live life. God-Family-Others is how we serve our community and God-Client-Three Strands Media is how we serve you. No matter what your faith is, our working partnership with you is backed by our covenant with God to live and serve with integrity as if we are working for the Lord himself.
Does that mean we will always be perfect and get it right the first time? No. But will we strive to do so and make it right when we don’t? Yes. Your satisfaction is deeply rooted in our desire to do our best for a higher purpose.
How We Work
Matt and Melissa were gifted with a few talents from our creator and honed by education, hard work, failures, and practice. We both stumbled across the idea of art as a career in high school. Matt is a true artist, with an artist’s vision and skill, and his course load reflected it by excelling at every art class his school had to offer. Melissa, on the other hand, didn’t take a single art class in high school, but thrived in Yearbook and fell in love with the technical side of art. In life and business Matt is typically vision and Melissa is typically logistics – and it just works. Like in a good marriage, there are times where these roles shift, but this is where we thrive. Connecting with others is something we are both gifted in – and that is what makes us love our jobs more than anything – the stories we are privileged to tell alongside our clients.
What does that mean for our clients? You will have a well-rounded team that listens and interprets your story for the desired medium, helps guide the process, and delivers a great product.
